Client Goals

Dolci Tradizionale (“traditional sweets”) was a start-up cheesecake company specializing in Italian cheesecakes and other baked goods. The client needed branding, packaging design, and other print marketing materials for the proposed business plan. Because the recipes were passed down from the client’s grandmother and mother, the client priority was for the branding to represent the authentic Italian flavors and heritage of the product.

Approach

The logo was created using the colors of the Italian flag. A clean sans-serif font (foundational, as in “tradizionale” or “traditional”) was paired with a script font (decorative, for “dolci” which means “sweets”).

Vintage family photos were gathered, repaired and retouched, and used to create the labels for the food packages.

Product names were inspired by the family photos and how they evoked the different flavors of the products.
